Div Com, IGP Inspect Hajj Arrangements at Srinagar Airport

Srinagar: As the first batch of Hajj pilgrims commenced their journey, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Vijay Kumar Biduri, alongside IGP V K Birdi, conducted a review of arrangements at the Srinagar International Airport.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo, SSP Budgam Nikhal Borkar, Director of the International Airport, and other concerned officers were also present.

During the visit, the Div Com interacted with the pilgrims, conveying his greetings and best wishes to them.

He also assessed facilities, including availability of clean drinking water, medical services, refreshments, volunteer services, traffic management, immigration check facilities, and baggage services, both inside and outside the airport premises.

The authorities were directed to ensure hassle-free departure for all pilgrims throughout the departure schedule.

Meanwhile, the first group of 642 pilgrims, in two flights carrying 322 each, took off from Srinagar International Airport today, marking the beginning of this yearโ€™s Hajj pilgrimage with fervor and optimism.

A total of 7008 Hajj pilgrims from J&K will embark on the holy pilgrimage this year.

The pilgrims, dressed in white attire, bid farewell to their loved ones as they gathered at the airport in Srinagar.
