Srinagar: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi has suspended five government teachers including the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) for ‘attending a feast in a nearby public school which led to the closure of five schools’ on Tuesday.
In an official communiqué, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi said that the complex head, Shajroo received a complaint regarding the closure of five schools during working hours and an official of the complex head immediately paid a visit to those schools.
“He found five schools locked during working hours and thus submitted a report along with photographs, showing locked schools,” it reads.
A committee consisting of the Principal of HSS (Higher Secondary School) Channa, Riaz Hussain Senior Lecturer of HSS Mahore, and the Headmaster of HS (High school) Jamlan was constituted who submitted a detailed report and confirmed the closure that too without the permission of higher authorities, it said.
“ZEO Mahore instead of taking action against the HOls ((Head Of Institution)
of those schools for closing the schools, participated with them in enjoying the feast at MS Tramala and this office has recommended for suitable punishment warranted under rules against ZEO Mahore to DSEJ,” reads the communiqué.
The CEO said that neither headmaster of MS Tramala, in any case, is authorized to serve direction to any school for closing the schools nor HOls of these schools have the authority to close the schools without permission of higher authorities as such all these Hols need strong action to be taken against them.
“Therefore, HOls of all the schools are put under suspension with immediate effect and attached to the office of CEO Reasi,” it added.
