Srinagar: The administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced on Wednesday that financial assistance would be provided to the families of the deceased killed in the Srinagar boat crash tragedy.
A man and two minors are feared dead while the bodies of six others including two children were retrieved after a boat crashed into a bridge over Jhelum river in Srinagar city on Tuesday, April 16.
The incident has left the entire Kashmir valley in mourning and disbelief.
A top said that the administration has handed over an ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh to the Next of Kin (NoKs) of each deceased person.
Additionally, Rs 50,000 has been provided to those who were injured in the incident, he added.
