Authorities Shift 172 Workers To Safer Place After Two Kishtwar Men Die In Ganderbal Avalanche

Ganderbal: The authorities on Sunday shifted at least 172 workers of Mega Engineering and Infrastructure Limited company to a safer location after two local laborers from J&Kโ€™s Kishtwar were in avalanches that hit the Sarbal area of central Kashmirโ€™s Ganderbal district over the last few days.

An official said that after yesterdayโ€™s avalanche, Army, Police, and SDRF jointly launched a rescue operation to evacuate the workers.

On Saturday evening an avalanche struck near a tunnel construction site in the Sarble area.

On January 12 two laborers of the construction company died after back-to-back avalanches hit near the construction site.
