Authorities Shift 172 Workers To Safer Place After Two Kishtwar Men Die In Ganderbal Avalanche

Ganderbal: The authorities on Sunday shifted at least 172 workers of Mega Engineering and Infrastructure Limited company to a safer location after two local laborers from J&K’s Kishtwar were in avalanches that hit the Sarbal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district over the last few days.

An official said that after yesterday’s avalanche, Army, Police, and SDRF jointly launched a rescue operation to evacuate the workers.
 
He said 172 workers have been shifted to safer locations.
 
On Saturday evening an avalanche struck near a tunnel construction site in the Sarble area.
 
On January 12 two laborers of the construction company died after back-to-back avalanches hit near the construction site.
