Kulgam: The Enforcement Wing of the Agriculture Department seized around 180 quintals of non-permissible fertilizers in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.
An official said that after 19 hours of hunting, the accused was caught along with a truck (HMV Heavy Motor Vehicle) at Laroo Bypass in Kulgam.
"The truck was coming from Gujrat to Kulgam in a suspicious manner. From the Qazigund tunnel, we followed the truck and after 19 hours the driver was arrested along with 180 quintals of non-permissible fertilizer packed in 900 bags, and the vehicle was also seized," he said.
“The enforcement wing ensures the quality fertilizers, and pesticides, made available to the farming community through proper sale outlets at the right time,” he said.
