Srinagar: All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) has urged the LG administration to train patwaris โ€˜as the revenue department officials arenโ€™t tech-savvy and some face problems while registering land records digitally.โ€™

"The records being digitized at present donโ€™t carry the correct names of the people, which has left the common masses aghast. As the Patwaris are not tech-savvy, the government should play its role to organize training workshops for all, Abdul Majeed Malla, president of the association said.ย

Many have complained of problems in the ongoing digitization process,โ€ Malla said.ย

He also said that people have raised concerns over incorrect online information as real estate is a matter of millions of rupees.ย
ย
โ€œDigitization is an appreciable and welcome step, but at the same time, the Patwaris should be trained well to ensure that the concerns are executed without any flaw,โ€ Malla said, adding that the government must understand why the private outsourcing failed to ensure digitization of the records from the past four years.
