Srinagar: As the outrage over stranded apple trucks on Jammu-Srinagar highway looms large in Kashmir, the Jammu & Kashmir administration has attached the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, National Highway, Shabir Ahmad Malik on Wednesday.
In an order, the Government has ordered attachment of Shabir Ahmad Malik.
โIn the interest of administration of Shabir Ahmad Malik, SSP Traffic, NHW, is hereby transferred and attached with police headquarters, J&K, with immediate effect. Ms.Mohita Sharma, SSP Ramban, shall hold the additional charge of the said post, till further orders,โ reads the order.
When a person is posted without any proper place of posting- it is called attached in the legal lexicon, Advocate Arshad Andrabi told The Himalayan Post.
โIn such cases, the salary of the employee is not affected," he added.
It is pertinent to mention that apple farmers in Kashmir have been protesting for 11 days against halting apple trucks on NH-44 which has led to the rotting of apples and loss of crores.
