ARTO Kupwara Among Three Transport Officers Suspended

Srinagar: At least three officers of Transport Department including ARTO Kupwara were suspended on Friday.

The case was registered against them by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB.)

The officers were identified as Mohammad Mukhtar Sofi – ARTO, Kupwara, Khursheed Ahmad Kanna – Motor Vehicle Inspector and Abdul Hamid Bhat – Motor Vehicle Inspector.

According to the order; “Pending enquiry, the following officials of Transport Department are hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect, in terms of Rule-31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956.”

“The Order added that the Transport Department shall initiate departmental proceedings (RDA) against the suspended officer/officials in terms of extant rules.”

During suspension, the suspenders shall remain attached with the Office of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,” the order stated.
