Srinagar: Three major highways to the Kashmir valley reopened on Tuesday following the wet spell with Mughal Road, which connects the valley to the Pir Panchal region's Rajouri-Poonch, partially opened, according to officials.

The Mughal road highway was opened after clearance of fresh snowfall at several places along the road including the Pir Ki Gali belt, an official said.

However, DTI Mughal Road, Kapil Manhas informed that the road was opened partially for "emergency purposes."

Meanwhile, traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, which connects the Valley with Jammu, is plying from both sides, officials said.

Also, one-way traffic is plying on the Srinagar-Leh highway from Srinagar towards Kargil, the official added.

Commuters are also advised to follow lane discipline as overtaking will lead to congestion.
