Anantnag, 16 February 2025—Three locals from Rajouri, currently residing in Kashmir Valley, have gone missing from the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, with their families unable to establish contact since February 13.
The missing youths—Riyaz Ahmad Bajad, 25, and his younger brother Showkat Ahmad Bajad, 18, both from Chandanpanjan, Qazigund, along with Mukhtar Ahmad Awan from Chowgam, Devsar Kulgam—had been living in the valley for the past six years.
According to their family, they had left home to attend a wedding at a relative’s house in Ashmuji, Kulgam.
“They took a lift on a tipper near Damjan and got off near Mir Bazar before continuing towards Ashmuji. However, they never reached their destination, and their phones have been switched off since,” said Riyaz Ahmad Khan, a relative, as quoted by Greater Kashmir.
“There has been no trace of them since that time,” he added.
