Srinagar: An Indian text book Publisher, QConnect from New Delhi has included Imam Ayatollah Khomeini’s name as the “most evil person” in the world with Jammu and Kashmir’s Shia Association urging government of India to take action and stop distribution of the book.

In a post, the J&K Shia Association stated, 'The publisher has hurt our religious sentiments. We appeal to the Government of India to take swift action and stop the distribution of this book.'

We will take legal action against the publisher but we urge the directorate of School education, Kashmir to stop the distribution of the book, they said.

Imam Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and served as its Supreme Leader from 1979 until his death in 1989. He was a prominent Shia cleric and a key figure in the Iranian Revolution of 1979, which led to the overthrow of the US-backed Pahlavi dynasty and the establishment of an Islamic republic in Iran.

Textbooks facing controversy isn't a new occurrence in Kashmir, as experts advocate for thorough review processes prior to distributing contentious content in Kashmir.
