Srinagar: Kashmir capital, Srinagar City on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2°C, above-normal by 6 degrees, marking the hottest day in the city since 1999, according to the Kashmir’s Independent Weather forecaster.
In South Kashmir, Qazigund and Kokarnag set new all-time highs for July with Qazigund reaching 35.6°C, breaking its previous record of 34.5°C set on July 11, 1988.
Kokarnag recorded a maximum of 34.1°C, exceeding its earlier record of 33.3°C set on July 3, 2024.
