Shooting Stones Kill Kashmiri Driver In Ramban

Srinagar: A truck driver (Heavy Motor vehicle) was killed and two other persons were injured after shooting stones hit two vehicles on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near the Magarkote area of J&K's Ramban on Wednesday.

The truck driver has been identified as Muneeb Tak and a resident of Supat, Kulgam, and the injured have been identified as Gopal Singh, a resident of Peera, and Rajinder Nath, a resident of Batote. 
 
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam said that due to overnight rains shooting stones hit two vehicles and a truck driver died on the spot while two others were injured. 
 
“The injured have been shifted to PHC Ramsoo for treatment”, he said. 
 
Meanwhile, traffic authorities said the Jammu-Srinagar National highway is through but intermittent shooting stones continue at Mehar and Panthyal.
 
“People are advised not to travel on the highway between Nashri and Banihal till Bharat Jodo Yatra is over”, they said.
 
Notably, Rahul Gandhi has left for New Delhi to attend the Republic Day function, however, sources said that he will resume foot-march again tomorrow.
