Srinagar, Apr 29 — Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will auction 28 shops and two halls at Parimpora through an online process on May 22 and 23, Commissioner and CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited, Faz Lul Haseeb, said on Wednesday.
The auction will be conducted on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) using the forward auction method, allowing bidders to participate remotely. “The entire process will be online. Nobody needs to come personally. We want maximum participation so that there is healthy and competitive bidding,” Haseeb told reporters.
He said the auction notice has already been issued and circulated on official platforms, including SMC’s social media handles, to reach prospective bidders.
Detailing the inventory, the Commissioner said six shops are on the ground floor, 11 on the first floor and 11 on the second floor of the commercial complex, along with two halls.
A facilitation cell has been set up in Rooms 207 and 208 of Block-C at the SMC office, where a five-member team will assist applicants with the online bidding process.
Haseeb said the exercise is intended to boost municipal revenue while ensuring equal access. “We want competitive bidding in which SMC benefits in revenue and the public also gets equal opportunity to participate,” he said.
