Srinagar, 18 February 2025 — Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power cuts across various districts in the Kashmir Valley, citing maintenance, stabilization, and upgradation work between February 19 and 27.
On February 22, power supply will remain affected from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Brein, Nishat, and surrounding areas, including Tulip Garden, Pahloo, Taj-Vivanta, Handampora, Ishbar, and Pathan Bagh, due to work by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and replacement of 33KV CTs at Brein Nishat.
The same day, reconductoring of the 33kV Khanyar-Rainawari line will disrupt supply from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Khanyar, Kathidarwaza, Rainawari, and areas such as Miskeen Bagh, Rozabal, Maqdoom Sahib, Hazaribagh, Jogilanker, JLNM Hospital, Hassanabad, Saida Kadal, and the Central Jail area.
"Emergency stabilization work by STD Sopore will lead to outages in Watlab, Tujjar, and Dooru on February 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.," a KPDCL spokesperson stated.
On February 20, shifting of utilities by BEACON-NH will affect Palhalan, Hamray, Hanjiwera, and Pattan from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Besides, the erection of an ST Pole and shifting of the 33KV Budgam-Kremshore line underground at Razvain will disrupt power in Kremshore, Khansahib, Raithan, and Brenwar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Further outages are scheduled for February 23 in Baramulla, affecting Kanlibagh and nearby areas, and for February 25 and 27 in Bijbehara and surrounding regions due to upgradation work on the 33KV Wanpoh-SICOP line.
“Augmentation of the 33KV Awantipora line on February 22 will result in power cuts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Awantipora, IUST, AIIMS, and surrounding areas.”
Similarly, the extension of the 33KV Burzhama-Batpora feeder will impact power supply in Burzhama and its adjoining localities on February 22, 24, and 26.
