Srinagar: Police on Thursday raided at-least seven locations in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Budgam districts including the residential houses of journalists in connection with online threats issued to Valley-based journalists.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier almost 12 locations were raided, most of them were the residences of journalists in the same case.
A senior Police officer said that the houses which were searched include that of journalist Showkat A Motta in Srinagar, Khaksar Nadeeb Adnan (Advocate) in Srinagar, Haji Hayat's House in Pampore, and office (Kashmirreader) in Srinagar, Ishfaq Reshi in Budgam, Asif Dar (based abroad) and Saqib Hussain Magloo in Srinagar.
The officer said that the searches were carried from 'leads' from earlier raids. Some have been detained for questioning, the officer said.
The officer said that those whose houses searches were carried out earlier are being summoned every day for examination.
Notably, TRF armed group issued a threat letter to several Kashmir journalists, accused of working for Indian security agencies and five of them have already resigned.
