Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday raided six locations across Kashmir Valley against the OGW (Over-ground workers) network.

OGWs are individuals who help militants with logistical support, cash, and shelter.

An official said that the NIA raids were underway at six locations across Kashmir Valley including Srinagar, Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian.

“The case was filed last year, alleging criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and OGWs of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates and off-shoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani handlers,” he said.

The officials said the suspects are using cyber-space for targeting minorities, and forces and spreading communal disharmony.

“Initial searches carried out last year had led to the seizure of digital devices which were analyzed forensically. Current searches are based on those leads,” he said.
