Srinagar, 23 January 2025: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday warned of a very high risk of forest fires in Jammu & Kashmir over the next seven days due to an ongoing dry spell in the region.
“Very High Forest Fire Risk is likely to occur over forest areas in J&K in the next seven days. In case of emergency, dial 112,” the NDMA stated.
“The Jammu region is reported to be particularly vulnerable, with a sharp rise in fire incidents
linked to the extended period of dry weather.”
The warning remains valid until 11 a.m., January 30.
