Srinagar: Rains disrupted the International Yoga Day event in the Kashmir capital, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to observe the celebrations on the banks of Dal Lake.
According to reports, the event was held indoors at the SKICC (Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre) and started at 6:30 a.m.
Moderate to heavy rainfall was reported across the Valley, making it difficult to hold open-air yoga events, an official said.
Heavy rainfall was occurring around Dal Lake, where Prime Minister Modi was to lead the main yoga event, he added.
