Srinagar, Mar 26 — A delegation of the Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), led by its patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, left for New Delhi on Thursday to offer condolences to the Iranian ambassador over the reported killing of senior leaders and to convey solidarity with the people of Iran.
The delegation includes Nasir-ul-Islam, Rehmatullah Qasmi, Aga Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi and Aga Syed Hadi Al-Mosvi.
In a statement, the MMU said the killing of prominent leaders had caused “widespread grief and shock,” and voiced concern over the suffering of people in Iran amid the ongoing conflict.
The visit is intended as a gesture of sympathy and support, while also calling for unity among the Muslim Ummah and prayers for peace and stability, the statement said.
Meanwhile, hostilities in Iran continued, with reports of retaliatory strikes targeting Israel and parts of the Gulf region, even as global energy and food prices remain under pressure.
