Srinagar, November 1, 2024 — Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Jammu and Kashmir MLA Devender Singh Rana passed away overnight between Thursday and Friday.
Rana, who recently won a decisive victory in the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election for the Nagrota constituency, defeated his nearest rival, Joginder Singh of the JKNC, by a margin of 30,472 votes.
The veteran politician, who switched his allegiance from the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) to the BJP in 2021, reportedly took his last breath at a hospital in Faridabad, Haryana, a city just south of New Delhi and part of the National Capital Region (NCR).
