Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, as the interim Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE).
In an official order issued by the Lieutenant Governor's Manoj Sinha’s administration, the government stated that this appointment serves as an interim arrangement to replace Raj Kumar Goyal, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Home Department.
The order invoked Section 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002, to appoint Dheeraj Gupta to this role.
"In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002, the Government hereby orders that Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment shall discharge functions of Chairman, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations, in addition to his own duties, as an interim arrangement, till further orders, in place of Raj Kumar Goyal, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Home Department," reads the order.
