Iranians gather to show support for the Islamic Republic regime

Tehran, Jan 13 — Iran’s government is reviewing proposals from the United States, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday, while communications continue between him and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

Araghchi criticised US President Donald Trump’s warnings of military action if protests turned violent, saying they “motivated terrorists to target protesters and security forces and invite foreign intervention.”

Trump has repeatedly threatened to intervene, stating that he has “very strong options” as the US military monitors the situation and his administration liaises with Iranian opposition leaders.

Iran declared three days of national mourning for those killed during two weeks of protests, including members of security forces. State media report that over 100 security personnel have died, while opposition groups claim hundreds of protesters have also been killed. The Himalayan Post has not independently verified these figures.
