Kupwara: A gas cylinder explosion in Kupwara jail has left more than nine inmates injured, according to initial reports.
The blast occurred inside the jail area, injuring nine persons, an official confirmed.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, he added.
Medical personnel have informed that some of the injured have critical injuries, while all others are in stable condition.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
