Srinagar: Farooq Ahmed Rather, Bharatiya Janata Party constituency in-charge of Sopore town in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday resigned from the basic membership of the party,
“I resigned because I failed to address the grievances and fulfil the demands of the people of my constituency who have always supported me,” he said,
“The party failed to address the grievances and my moral conscience doesn't allow me to continue with the membership of the party,” he added.
Farooq has submitted his resignation letter to J&K BJP president.
