Srinagar: Ashoora, the 10th day of Islamic holy month of Muharram will be observed with tomorrow across Kashmir. However, authorities said the restrictions will be imposed along the traditional banned route of Abi Guzar and over several others roads for smooth traffic due to huge gatherings.
The 10th Muharram is observed as Youm-e-Ashoora across word to commomerate the martdydom of Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the battle of Karabala, now in southern Iraq some 1400 years ago.
As per reports, the biggest Muharram procession is scheduled to be carried out in Bota Kadal area to Zadibal area of Srinagar.
The Muharram procession will also be taken out at Bemina area of Srinagar, along Budgam district, in north Kashmir’s Pattan and Delina areas of Baramulla district. Moreover in Wularhama Pahalgam, Sofi Pora, Halkha, Chaturgund areas of South Kashmir.
“On the eve of Ashoora, we have decided not to impose any restrictions on the internet in Srinagar” authorities said.
“There will be curbs on traffic movement on traffic routes of Srinagar due to huge gatherings in rally/rallies.”
Pertinently, the Muharram processions were taken out today in Baba Demb area, Rainawari and Gow Kadal areas of Srinagar and also along the interiors of world famous Dal Lake.
