Ganderbal, Sep 11: A Scorpio vehicle got stranded in the Sindh River near Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, reportedly after a group of youths attempted to perform stunts with the vehicle.
The incident prompted a rescue operation involving police personnel and local residents, who reached the spot to retrieve the stranded vehicle.
According to preliminary reports, the youths were allegedly attempting to drive the Scorpio through the river when it became stuck, leaving the occupants in a difficult situation.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Sonamarg, along with a team of police personnel, reached the spot and joined the efforts to retrieve the vehicle.
Local residents also assisted the police in the rescue operation.
The rescue efforts were underway when this report was filed.
Police are also ascertaining the circumstances of the incident and may take further action if any violation or negligence is established.
