China has vowed to support Islamic nations in their efforts to resolve conflict – including Kashmir (Himalayan region divided between three nuclear power India, Pakistan, China) while attending OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) meeting in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad as a special guest.
“China will continue to support Islamic countries in using Islamic wisdom to solve contemporary hotspot issues, we will promote the settlement of the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution and for Afghanistan, and we will support them to build up an inclusive government,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.
“On the Kashmir issue, we have heard the voices of many Islamic friends again today, and China has the same desire for this,” he was quoted as saying without elaborating further.

The pledge from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi comes as China faces increasing pressure from Western nations – especially the US – to take a tougher stand against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
The OIC is the second-largest global organisation after United Nations and has 57 members spread over four continents.
The Organization was established on 25 September 1969 to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim across the world following the criminal arson of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, its official website says.
Earlier, China was accused of ‘human rights violations’ in its Xinjiang region where Muslim Uygur minority community live.
