Srinagar: Citing the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), the Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday imposed a complete ban on the import of bovine animals from neighboring states and inter-district movement of bovines within Jammu and Kashmir for any purpose, till October 25.ย
According to an order, the ban has been imposed in the wake of the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in J&K and some states of the country.

As per the order the ban has been imposed under Section 10 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases Act, 2009.ย ย

It also stated that the decision will be reviewed based on an evolving situation.
