Kupwara: A 20-year-old youth is believed to have drowned in a waterway (nallah) in the Villgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
Locals said at least three boys went untraceable inside a waterway (nallah) in Punzwa village of Villgam area this afternoon while bathing.
“Two of them were rescued but one among them hasn’t been found yet,” they said.
The youth was identified as Shahid Amin Beigh, son of Mohammad Amin Beigh, the officials further said that he was an MBBS student.
It has been learned that the police and locals had minimum logistics available to rescue the youth.
