Woman Who Stabbed Fiancé Arrested: Srinagar Police

Srinagar: A woman who stabbed and injured her fiancé with a knife in the Kak Saria area of Srinagar on Tuesday morning has been arrested, Police said.
 
In a Tweet, Srinagar Police said that the accused woman has been arrested, while the injured man is stable now. 
 
Police also said the woman is engaged to the man and Nikaah (formal, binding contract – verbal and on paper – integral to a religiously valid Islamic marriage) ceremony between the two had also taken place. 
 
"One person Adil Ahmad Kaloo of Bemina Srinagar was stabbed by knife by his fiancé Asifa Bashir, resident of Parimpora in broad daylight in Chattabal. The injured is stable. The lady was engaged to victim & nikaah had also taken place. FIR No 57/2023 in Safakadal PS. Accused lady arrested," police tweeted. 
 
Earlier, reports said a girl stabbed a boy (fiancé) with a knife in Kak Sarai and fled from the spot, while the injured was admitted to SMHS hospital.
 
The Himalayan Post couldn’t independently verify the ages of the victim and the accused.
