Awantipora: A woman was killed while seven others were injured in a road accident in south Kashmir’s Awantipora on Sunday.
According to an official, the accident took place at Chursoo area of Awantipora, injuring eight people who were taken to the PHC (Public Health Centre) in Awantipora.
However, doctors declared one woman dead. She has been identified as Sumi Jan, the wife of Mudasir Ahmad Ganie and a resident of Panzgam, he said.
He further added that among the injured persons, three have been referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment, while four others are receiving treatment at PHC Awantipora and are in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
