Srinagar: Founder and chairman of the Ittihadul Musilmeen, Mohammad Abbas Ansari passed away today morning after a prolonged illness at his residence in the Khankhai Subah Nawakadal area of Srinagar.ย ย
His Family said that Abbas Ansari was not keeping well for a long and his health deteriorated over the last couple of days

They said that today morning he breathed his last at his residence in the Nawakadal area.

They said that his funeral will be held after Zuhrโs prayers and he will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Babamazaar Zadibal.ย

Notably, Ansari was admitted to SKIMS Soura recently as he was not keeping well for a long.ย

National Conference president and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Apni Party president, Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also visited him to enquire about his health.ย

Popularly known as Molvi Abbas, he was the last surviving politician of the Plebiscite Front era.

However, his differences with Pakistanโs approach later led to his ouster from the multiparty combine.

Molvi Abbas has penned scores of books on the spiritual aspects of Islam.

His autobiography penned during his jail stay titled โ Khare Gulistanโ meaning thorn of the garden was released in 2018.
