Rajouri: An unidentified militant has been killed in a military operation in Behrote top area of Budhal village in Pir Panchal region’s Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, officials said.
The operation was jointly launched by Rajouri Police, Inidan military, Special Forces and CRPF in the general area of Behrote top, Budhal.
News agency quoted an official saying that a cordon and search operation was launched at Behrote top area of Budhal village in the morning after receiving information regarding suspicious movement. During the CASO, the contact was established and gunfire started.

The exchange of fire continued for some time and during the ensuing operation, one militant was killed, he said, adding that one AK 47- two magazines- three Chinese grenades- five Pouches were recovered.
“The identity of the slain is being ascertained, he added.
A case under FIR number 128/2023 under section 307, 120B, 121, 122 IPC; 7/25/27 Arms Act; 13/16/18/23 UAPA Act 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered at Police Station Budhal of District Rajouri, police said.
