Srinagar: An unidentified militant was killed in Bemina area of Srinagar on Thursday, police said.
A police official said acting on a specific lead about the presence of militants near police post Bemina, a brief gunfight took place in which an unidentified militant was killed.

Earlier, police had tweeted that an encounter had started at Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Police said that the search operation is on in the area.
