Kupwara: A 75-year-old undertrial prisoner died on the intervening of Tuesday-Wednesday night in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
They identified him as Mohammad Maqbool Khan, son of Abdul Gaffar Khan, a resident of Kakroosa Village.
He was already on medication and shifted to SDH (Sub-District Hospital) Kupwara when his condition deteriorated.
The official also said that three sons of the deceased elderly man are also under custody in the particular case.
They said the individual was lodged in the district jail Kupwara since August 2022 in a case FIR number 61/2023, about Sections 306 and 109 of IPC.
