Anantnag, Aug 13: Two youths were killed and two others injured after lightning struck a group of people in the Gawran Nard area of Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.
The deceased were identified as Faizan Ahmad, 18, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Chard, a resident of Gawran, and Bilal Ahmad Battana, 16, son of Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Redwani Gawran.
The injured were identified as Sajad Ahmad Battana, 15, son of Sai Battana, and Shareef Ahmad Battana, son of Jumma, both residents of Redwani Gawran.
Officials said the lightning struck the group in the Gawran Nard area, leaving four people injured. Two of them later succumbed to their injuries.
The injured were immediately shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Larnoo, where they were provided initial medical treatment.
