Two Persons Held Along With 300 Kg Poppy Straw: Police

Srinagar: Two persons accused of drug peddling were arrested along with 300 Kg of poppy straw-like substance in the Zangam-Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. 

In a statement, the police said that at a routine Naka (checkpoint) near Zangam Pattan, Police signaled an Alto vehicle bearing registration number JKO5E-6826 to stop which was coming from Baramulla towards Srinagar.

During a search of the vehicle around 300kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered and arrested two drug peddlers were identified as      Jehangir Ahmad Lone Son of Mohd Sabir Lone, resident of Chennai, District Baramulla, and Ashaq Hussain Magloo, son of Mohd Ramzan Magloo, resident of Chennai, District Baramulla. 

The vehicle was also seized, it said. 
                       
The police spokesman further stated that a case under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Pattan and an investigation set in was motion.
