Srinagar: Two OGWs (Over ground workers) have been arrested after Police, Army and CRPF launched an operation based on the intelligence inputs in South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Friday.
In a statement, Police said that the duo was arrested by joint parties of J&K police, 42 RR, 03 RR & 180 Bn CRPF after receiving intelligence inputs.
They were identified Bashir Ahmad and Gulzar Ahmad, both residents of Tral area in Awantipora. However, their ages weren’t mentioned in the police statement.

“On their disclosure, one AK-56, oneAK Magazine, 55 AK live Rounds, 4 Pistol, 6 Pistol Magazines, 24 Pistol live were recovered,” reads the statement.
In this regard, a case FIR U/S of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Explosive Substances Act and Arms Act stands registered in Police Station Tral.
