Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that two local militants of Lashkar-i-Toiba who had recently joined militancy, surrendered during an encounter (military operation) in Hadigam area of South Kashmir Kulgam district.
“During the encounter, two local militants surrendered on the appeal of their parents & police,” police said.
“Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered from their possession,” police added.

However, a senior Police officer said that both local LeT militants had joined militancy a week before.
Earlier an encounter broke out between militants and government forces in the Hadigam area of Kulgam.
