Two Local Militants Of AGH Killed In Bijbehra

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that two Local militants of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfit were killed in a ‘Chance’ Encounter (military operation) in Tajiwara area of Bijbhera, South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Police identified the duo as Fayaz Kumar and Owais Khan, However, their age and residence was not revealed by the officials.

Ansar Ghazwatul Hind was founded by local Kashmiri militant Zakir Musa in 2017 after parting his ways with Hizbul Mujahideen following the death of Burhan Wani.

As per police, the militant duo was involved in several attacks on police personnel.

“They were involved in several militant attacks including attack on police personnel in Cheeniwooder Srigufwara on 03-07-2022 in which one police personnel Firdous Dar got seriously injured, Darashikoh park attack in Bijbehara on 12-08-2022 in which one police personnel Gh Qadir got seriously injured. Besides they lobbed grenade at Padshahibagh on 15-06-2022,” police said,

Pertinently, two local Hizb militants were killed yesterday in Bijbhera area in a military operation launched by J&K Police and Army.
