Srinagar: Two local militants from south Kashmir’s Shopian have been killed in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, Police said.
They were identified as Shakir Majid Najar & Hanan Ahmad Seh. However, their ages and proper residence weren’t mentioned by the police.
Both were affiliated with the LeT group, an official said.
The ‘encounter’ (military operation) raged after police and forces launched a search operation in Wanigam Payeen village of Pattan area on Thursday morning, the official said.
They joined militancy in March this year, he said while quoting ADGP.
An AK-47 rifle and a pistol were recovered from their possession, he added.
