Srinagar: Two local militants affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen oufit have been killed in an encounter (military operation) in Hangalgund area of Kokernag, South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
They have been identified as Junaid Bhat, resident of Hangulgund, Kokarnag and Basit, resident of Jablipora Bijbehara.
“The Slain duo was identified as Junaid & Basit Bhat of HM militant outfit. Militant Basit was involved in the killing of BJP’s Sarpanch Gh Rasool Dar & his wife. Kashmir police quoted IGP Vijay Kumar.

As per reports, a joint of team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search an operation in the area.
