Srinagar: Two ‘hybrids’ associated with Zakir Musa’s Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind oufit were arrested at Waghama-Opzan road on a checkpost in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, police said.
In a statement, the police said that based on specific input about movement of militants, a Joint naka (checkpost) was established by Police along with Army (3RR) at Waghama-Opzan Road. During checking, the joint party apprehended 02 Hybrid militants outfit AGuH.
According to police statement, they have been identified as identified as Tanveer Ahmad Bhat, son of Ali Mohammad Bhat-resident of Waghama Bijbehara and Tufail Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar-resident of Midora Tral. However, their age was not revealed.
"Two Pistols along with magazines and 15 Rounds were recovered from their possession," the statement reads.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 166/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Bijbehara and investigation was set into motion, the statement added.
