Two AGuH OGWs Held In Central Kashmir’s Budgam

Srinagar: Police on Friday said it arrested two OGWs (Over Ground Workers) of oufit Ansar Gazwat ul Hind in central Kashmirโ€™s Budgam district.

They have been identified as Amir Manzoor Budoo, son of Manzoor Ahmad Budoo โ€“ resident of Dangerpora Razwan and Shahid Rasool Ganai, son of Gh Rasool Ganai โ€“ resident of Puttermulla Safapora Ganderbal.

Police said that budgam Police along with 62 RR and 43 Bn CRPF arrested two OGWs of outfit Ansar Gazwat ul Hind in Huroo area of Budgam.

One hand grenade and 25 AK-47 rounds have been recovered from their possession, poilce said in a statement.ย

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up, reads the statement.

Ansar Ghazwatul Hind, was founded by local militant Zakir Musa, with an objective to impose Sharia law in Jammu and Kashmir against the dominions of India, Pakistan.ย

Musa split from the Hizbul Mujahideen, one of the largest groups fighting Indian rule in Kashmir after the death of Burhan Wani & Sabzar Bhat and declared his allegiance to al-Qaeda based ideology in 2017.
