Ramban: The traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar national highway resumed after remaining suspended for over five hours on Friday due to a landslide in the Ramban area, officials said.
An official said that the highway has been reopened for traffic after early morning traffic was suspended due to landslides at different places in the Ramban stretch.
“All blockades were removed and the traffic was allowed to move towards Kashmir as over 200 vehicles, which were stranded were let go,” he said.
"After clearance of these 200 vehicles, pilgrims will also be allowed to move on the highway.” he added.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Ramban on its official Twitter handle informed that vehicular traffic has been restored in NH-44
"As conveyed by NHAI, PIU Ramban, vehicular traffic restored on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after road clearance in Ramban District following heavy overnight rainfall,” DC Ramban tweeted.
