Three ‘Hybrid’ Militants Held In North Kashmir’s Sopore

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that they have arrested three โ€˜hybridโ€™ militants belonging to oufit Lashkar-i-Toiba in North Kashmirโ€™s Sopore.

They have been identified as Tufail Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Majeed Mir, resident of Gund Mohalla, Barat Kalan, Owais Ahmad Mir, Son of Hassan Mir, resident of Mir Mohalla, Barat Kalan and Shabir Ahmad Wagay, Son of Nazir Ahmad Wagey, resident of Masjid Mohalla, Pethabug.

Today based on a specific information, three suspected individuals from Wadoora Bala to Sonarwain bridge, who were likely to carryout attack on Forces were apprehend during joint Naka (check post) โ€“ established by 22 RR, Sopore Police, and 179 Bn CRPF, police said in a statement.ย

Upon their search 03 Pistols,03 Magazines, 22 rounds of Pistols, 01 Grenade and Rs 79,800 cash were recovered from their possession, the statement reads.ย

The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested โ€˜hybridsโ€™ are affiliated to LeT.ย

Accordingly in this regard a case has been registered at Police Station,Bomai under relevant sections of Law and further investigation is going on.
ย 
โ€˜Hybridโ€™ is a newly coined term by poilce which stands for Civilains or OGWs who carry out attacks like sleeper cells.ย
