Three Arrested Under NDPS In Kupwara, Shifted To Kot Bhalwal Jail

Kupwara: Three persons have been arrested under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1988 (PIT NDPS) in north Kashmirโ€™s Kupwara district on Tuesday and shifted to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu, according to officials.ย

They have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Hajam, son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Chek Halmatpora; Azad Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmad, a resident of Chalgund Haihama; and Waseem Ahmad Shah, son of Habibullah, a resident of Harkarpora Awoora.

An official said: โ€œthree persons were detained under the PIT NDPS Act for their deep involvement in drug related activities".ย

โ€œWe will make sure that the district is drug-free zone sooner than later,โ€ added the official.ย
