Srinagar: Three army personnel including a (JCO) junior commissioner officer were killed after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Machil area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Indian Army said on January 11.
In a tweet, the army said that during a required operational task, a party comprising a JCO & two others slipped into a deep gorge.
Moreover, the mortal remains of all three have been retrieved.
Notably, this is the second such incident in the area in the past two months.
In November, three other personnel were killed when a snow avalanche struck them in the area.
