Ganderbal: A teenage boy, who was on a picnic with his school, drowned to death in a Sindh River of Sonamarg area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday.
The boy has been identified as Shoaib Farooq Chachi (14) son of Farooq Ahmad Chachi and a resident of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said that the boy, a student of a school in Baramulla, was on picnic when the incident took place.
He said that the boy was immediately taken to PHC Sonamarg, where doctor pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident.
